Experiment 7: Rectifier Circuits
  • Download the Up-down Analyzer for Exp 7.
  • Start the Launcher. Then, go to the Lab Menu and select Exp 7.
  • Use the Up-down Analyzer to solve the following problems.
  • Remember to click the HOME button before starting each problem.
    • Problem 1: What is the peak output voltage if the turns ratio is changed to 7?
    • Problem 2: What is the dc output voltage if the line voltage is changed to 105 V?
    • Problem 3: What is the diode current if the load resistor is changed to 100 ohms?
    • Problem 4: Design a circuit that meets these specifications: V1 = 120 V, RL = 470 ohms, and Vdc = 25 V.
Experiment 8: The Capacitor-Input Filter

    • Problem 2: What is the ripple voltage if the capacitance is changed to 220 microfarads?
    • Problem 3: What is the diode current if the load resistor is changed to 1 kohm?
    • Problem 4: Design a circuit that meets these specifications: V1 = 120 V, V2 = 12.6 V, IL = 13.1 mA, and VR = 406 mV.
Experiment 9: Limiters and Peak Detectors
  • Download the T-shooter for Exp 9 if you have not already done so. (Note: this program is the same as the T-shooter of Chap. 4 in the Text programs.)
  • Start the Launcher. Then, go to the Lab Menu and select Exp 9.
  • Take the troubleshooting test.
  • Repeat the test until your score equals or exceeds the Expert score.

Experiment 11: Voltage Doublers

  • Start the Launcher. Then, go to the Lab Menu and select Exp 11.
  • Use the Up-down Analyzer to solve the following problems.
  • Remember to click the HOME button before starting each problem.
    • Problem 1: What is the peak secondary voltage when the turns ratio is changed to 3?
    • Problem 2: What is the dc load voltage when the the turns ratio is changed to 1?
    • Problem 3: What is the ripple voltage when the C2 is changed to 220 microfarads?
    • Problem 4: Design a circuit that meets these specifications: V1 = 120 V, Vdc = 1000 V, IL = 1 mA, and VR = 1 V pp. What does the turns ratio equal? What is the peak secondary voltage?
