What Readers Are Saying about Electronic Principles

G. Barry Nelson, Missouri Western State College | April 30, 1998

"The outstanding pinnacle of your many achievements!...
Let me personally and publicly offer my thanks and congratulations to you, Dr. Malvino, for your wonderful Seventh Edition
of Electronic Principles. I am a professor of Electronics Engineering Technology at Missouri Western State College, and have used several editions of this textbook. My first exposure to you as an author was in 1969 when I used Transistor Circuit Approximations as a textbook when I was a student, myself. What had been made vague and confusing by many other author, you cleared up with that one little textbook (from which Electronic Principles grew).

I had never seen material presented in such a clear and concise manner before. In addition, I used your text entitled Instrumentation Fundamentals (or something like that), and also found that to be a marvelous text. I still own and cherish both of these original textbooks and continue to hold them in high regard. As far as my teaching here at MWSC, I have been at it for 17 years, and have yet to find a better textbook than Electronic Principles. Many have tried, but nobody has matched this text in ease of teaching and understanding. All the editions have been very good, but this Seventh Edition is the outstanding pinnacle of your many achievements. Thanks to you and to your publishers, and to all who assisted you or put up with you in these textbook authoring endeavors."

"An excellent book for the serious electronics learner!...
This is one of those books that stands out from the rest. It covers the whole subject of electronics in depth, clearly and right to the point. If you are really interested in learning more about electronics, and the tricks of the trade, then this is the book you are looking for."

"It is so incredible!...
Today, when I got back from the bookstore I sat and read the first three chapters on transistors. I NEVER EVER believed it could be possible but I actually understood how transistors work in circuits. I am still amazed. It's like being taught to fly for the first time!

I love the way you don't talk down to the reader or use big unfamiliar words. Also, the way you explain what all the jargon means. It's so easy to follow. I can't believe the other books made it seem so complicated! It is one of those very rare, special books that I know I will keep and constantly be referring to.

So I had to write and thank you for making such a difference to me by writing this brilliant book. I'm so grateful. I know there must be thousands more students who think it's great too. So for all us---thank you very much.
